U.N. officials said Wednesday they have charged a recruiter with recruiting a soldier to serve in the U.K. to fight alongside the Islamic State group.
U.S.-based recruiter Abu Ali Al-Owens, 37, was arrested in the Netherlands, where he was based for more than three years.
He was taken into custody after the arrest of his son, the U, who was later arrested in Saudi Arabia, according to the U., the official said.
Al-Owalts son, Ali Mohamed Al-Osman, is being held in Saudi’s capital Riyadh.
