Clemson’s top-ranked recruiting class has the potential to win the Big 12 title and will be competing in the College Football Playoff, according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings.
Clemson’s top recruiting class was ranked No. 5 by 247 Sports last month, and the class includes five-star running back Da’Mon Butler, five-stars offensive lineman Tyquan Lewis, five stars defensive tackle Jordan L. Smith, five star defensive tackle Tyler Moore and four-stars linebacker Derrick Johnson.
The four-star offensive lineman is the No. 9 overall player in the class.
Clevelander quarterback Treon Harris, who committed to Clemson last year, is the top rated recruit for the class according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings.
Harris, the No 2 recruit in the country, is also ranked No 7 by the 247Sports Composite rankings and the No 8 player in this class according a composite of ESPN, 247Sports and Rivals.
Clevellas top defensive end and defensive tackle Marcus Lewis is the country’s No. 1 overall player according to ESPN, while No. 2 overall defensive tackle Derrick Johnson is No. 3 overall.
Johnson is the nation’s No 7-ranked player and the nation�s No. 12 overall player, according the 247 Composite rankings, according that same rankings, which also give the nation as a whole a No. 22 overall ranking.
The 247 Composite ranks the top 15 defensive tackles in the nation according to a composite.
The Clemson recruiting class is also one of the most balanced in the Big Ten, with the class boasting seven four- and five- stars in the 247 rankings, seven four and five star in the ESPN rankings and seven four stars in Rivals.
