Auburn has a chance to land the top recruit in the country in next year’s class, according to Rivals.com.
The Tigers have been chasing Jamal Murray since they landed him as a top-25 recruit in 2018, and it looks like the former Alabama standout could be heading to the Tigers.
Murray is ranked No. 15 among all players in the 2018 class, and he has committed to Auburn.
He committed to Alabama after the 2018 season, but the Tigers haven’t yet made a commitment to Murray, and the 247Sports Composite ranks Murray as the No. 8 player in the nation, behind Florida State’s Deandre Ayton and Florida’s Devin Robinson.
While Murray is the No-1 player in Alabama, the 247Composite rankings are closer to the top five.
Murray is rated No. 7 among players, while the 247Classified.com rankings have Murray as No. 9.
Auburn could also consider signing the top two-star prospect in the 2019 class, former Texas A&M commit Chris Moore.
Moore is ranked in the top 10 of the 2019 Composite, and 247Sports.com has him as the 10th-best prospect in Alabama.
The 247Comps are the most-tracked 247 Composite, with Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama, Florida and Georgia at No. 1.
