A recruiter who used to run a recruiting website for Nike has been found dead.
Nike said in a statement that it was “deeply saddened by the news” of the death of former Nike Recruiting Director Greg Williams.
Williams was the son of Nike founder Phil Knight.
Williams had been with Nike for 18 years and had worked at the company for four years, Nike said in the statement.
“Greg was a visionary, driven and dedicated recruiter and a brilliant leader who worked tirelessly for Nike and its partners,” the statement said.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this time.”
Nike is “deepest in shock” after hearing of Williams’ death.
“He will be sorely missed by Nike’s employees and fans, and our hearts go out to his friends and family,” Nike said.
Williams left Nike in 2018 and joined a start-up firm, Aventura Ventures.
He was the first African-American to work at Nike, according to the company.
