Police: Arkansas State’s top five recruits were arrested

Police have arrested five people for allegedly recruiting a high school senior for an unnamed school.

Arkansas State Police spokeswoman Kim Tompkins said the arrests took place in Arkansas over the weekend.

Tompkins added the five students are being held on $1 million bond.

She did not elaborate.

The arrest comes just days after the state’s top recruiting class was announced.

Arkansans will have the opportunity to vote on the five finalists by May 24.

The Razorbacks are the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 class, according to ESPN.

The 5-foot-10 center is rated the No, 1, or 2 player in the class.
