Kentucky football recruiting: Louisville’s Luke Joeckel, USC’s Sam Darnold top of the list

Kentucky is on track to add another star to its recruiting class this week.

The Wildcats announced Friday that the 6-foot-5, 250-pound Joeckell has verbally committed to the Wildcats.

He will be a junior, and the 247Sports Composite has him rated as the No. 13 overall player in the country, according to 247Sports.

Joeckell joins former USC quarterback Jared Goff, who also chose the Wildcats, and UCLA receiver Randal Daniels, who committed to Kentucky.

He also has the commitment of UCLA’s Tyler Moore, a six-star prospect.

The Bruins are expected to have a verbal commitment from defensive end Shaq Lawson, who has also announced he will join the Bruins this week, sources told The Associated Press.

Lawson, a 6-1, 275-pound defensive tackle from New York, is rated as a three-star recruit and is one of the top defensive ends in the nation.

He is considered the No 1 prospect in the 2018 class.

Law Lawson has also been in contact with the Tennessee Titans, a source told AP.

Tennessee will make a decision on Lawson on Monday.

The 6-3, 280-pound Lawson is ranked the No 13 defensive tackle in the 2019 class.

He has already been visited by the Cleveland Browns and Washington Redskins.

The Titans, who are preparing to host a bowl game, will make their official verbal commitment to Lawson on Friday, according the Associated Press, which has a source saying Lawson has made verbal offers to the Titans.
